The sidebar actually looks good now. It is properly sized and next to the main element and the navigation links also look alright now. I have also added a gallery to show off all images I have used for this website. Currently I have a few backgrounds and the favicon. I will not include the badges in the gallery because the footer of the website is practically its own gallery. There has to be a better way to write blog posts than typing them into the html code, so I want to figure that out as well. Maybe I could also have the newest news article be displayed on the main page. But I would have to learn Javascript for that, so dont expect to see that any time soon. I know I could probably use a template or copy the code from other pages on Neocities, but I want to figure out the fundamentals for myself first. One of the reasons I started this page is so I could learn more about how coding works and because building a website is a fun and practical application for learning the basics of coding. I also added the rough frame for the about page. There is no content there yet, but that will soon change. Next I want to figure out what the main purpose for this website will be...

Through a youtube video I was made aware of Neocities. I have always been interested in the "classic" web and immediately knew that I wanted to make my own website. I visited some popular websites made with this tool to gather some inspiration. My attention fell on melonkings website almost immediately. It looked like a fun place to check out. Turns out there also was a pretty cool css and html tutorial on this website. With the help of this guide it was easy to make my own website! I also visited w3schools.com, wich helped when I had more specific questions or forgot how to center a div. The basic framework of the website was complete! There is not alot to see here right now, i havent even made a sidebar yet and there is no way to return to the home page from the news site. I will focus on making a sidebar next, then I will create a todo list. When the basics are complete and I am satisfied with my learning progress, I will start with the actual contents of the website (an e-shrine themed around hunterxhunter perhaps?). Right now this website is a playground for me to figure out how all of this works, but we will see how this plays out

new entry a few hours later

I have decided to make this a different entry because I have made significant progress in the last few hours. It is now actually possible to navigate to the news site with a button and you can even return to the startpage! I have also added a todo list to help myself remember what needs to be done. I am quite satisfied with how my website turned out and I am confident that I will make even greater progress in the future

yet another entry only a few hours later

This will probably be my last entry for today, but I simply had to make another entry because I made even more progress today. I ditched the ugly buttons to switch pages and made a sidebar instead! I will continue to gather design inspiration from other sites to make my site look better. I also added another sidebar on the right side that shows every pokemon sprite I used on my website
